Industrial Signal Towers
Visual and auditory communication devices, such as industrial signal towers, are crucial to the operation of manufacturing facilities, assembly lines and other industrial environments. These signal tower lights convey the status of machines and processes to the humans working nearby. A typical tower consists of several stackable indicator lights that display either a steady state or some kind of dynamic pattern. The human operator can easily make use of the feedback provided by the tower because each color and pattern has a specific meaning in the context of machine operation. The operator knows what to look for and when to look for it, and that knowledge allows the operator to make better decisions and achieve a more efficient state of human-machine interaction.
Industrial signal lights can have extra elements that improve visibility and awareness in very noisy or complicated environments. These can be as simple as having very bright light effects that are different from any other lights in the vicinity, or as advanced as using stack lights that have flashing patterns different from any other signals in the area. Some also come with audible alarms as part of the package to really get one's attention. They can be made to withstand some very serious conditions, from the amount of dust that can get into machinery to the amount of moisture that can ruin electrical components in many industrial applications.
